We have reached out to the East Central Football League & the plan is to play as scheduled tomorrow. We play away versus Ogilvie, with 4th grade at 9:00 a.m., 5th grade at 10:15 a.m. and 6th grade at 11:30 a.m.

The forecast for tomorrow: Occasional snow showers. Some rain may mix in. High 36F. Winds SW at 10 to 20 mph. Chance of snow 70%. Snowfall around one inch.

Please make sure that your child is dressed warm and appropriate for the weather. If they wear a hooded sweatshirt, make sure that the hood is tucked in. 

We are looking for members to join the football board. We will meet on Sunday, October 13th at 6 p.m. at Timber Valley Grille.

Monday, October 14th from 5:30-7:00 p.m. is equipment return at Milaca Mini Storage. The storage unit is located behind the Blue Moon Saloon, on the corner of Enterprise Dr. and 8th Street NE. Our unit is #96.

Due to the weather forecast, threat of severe thunderstorms and heavy rain,  the football picnic scheduled for Saturday, October 5th has been cancelled. It will not be rescheduled. 

We are working with Coach Armbrust to set up a meeting with the 6th grade parents to discuss transition from Youth Football at a different date. 

There will be no practice tomorrow, Thursday, October 3rd, to allow players to attend Family Fun Night.

The 6th grade Youth Spotlight is still on schedule to occur at half-time during the varsity game vs. Holy Family at Claffy Field in Milaca.

Tomorrow night (Friday, 9/20)
4th and 5th Youth Football Spotlight at Halftime (approximately 8 p.m.) of the varsity game versus Zimmerman.
Enter at the visitor entrance. Players are free, adults are $6
Players will need to come dressed in cleats, football pants and undershirt and carry helmet, pads, and jersey. The helmet, pads , and jerseys will be left just inside the gate on the track.
At three minutes before halftime, players will need to put on their helmet, pads, and jerseys in the grass behind the uprights.
The youth players will line up to cheer the varsity off the field. They will then scrimmage on the varsity field under the lights.
After the scrimmage, players will need to remove their helmet, pads, and jerseys. It would be best if parents would take these directly to their vehicles.

Important information & Upcoming dates: 

1. Raffle tickets and money are due on Tuesday, September 17th.  You may turn in your raffle tickets and money sooner if you have sold all your tickets.  

2. There will be a “Youth Spotlight” at halftime of varsity games. Players will get into the game free with their jerseys!

Friday, September 20th:  varsity game vs. Zimmerman at Claffy Field in Milaca: Milaca 4th grade players will scrimmage Milaca 4th grade players and Milaca 5th grade players will scrimmage Milaca 5th grade players  

Friday, October 5th: varsity game vs. Holy Family at Claffy Field in Milaca: Milaca 6th grade players will scrimmage Milaca 6th grade players

This is an excellent opportunity for our youth to play under the lights! 

4. We are looking for new board members! Joining the board requires a two-year commitment. We meet monthly, except for December. Our next meeting will be held on Sunday, October 13th, 2019, at 6 p.m. at Timber Valley Grille. Milaca would not be able to offer a youth football program without our board members!

Thank you all for a wonderful first night of practice!

Just a few notes:

In the case of inclement weather, practice will be moved indoors. We will decide on the weather/indoor practice between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. the day of practice. 

If the practice is moved indoors, we will send out an email, update the Facebook page and the website with specific information.

The first day of practice will be Monday, August 12th, 2019 at the practice fields by the concession stands. Practice will run from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday until school starts. 

Monday, 8/12: Day 1: Shorts/athletic clothes, cleats and helmets 

Tuesday, 8/13: Day 2: Shells (Shorts/athletic clothes, shoulder pads, cleats and helmets)

Thursday, 8/15: Day 3: Shells (Shorts/athletic clothes, shoulder pads, cleats and helmets) 

Monday, 8/19: Day 4: Shells (Shorts/athletic clothes, shoulder pads, cleats and helmets)

Tuesday, 8/20: Day 5: Full pads (Football pants, shoulder pads, cleats and helmets) 

After Day 5, each practice will be full pads unless posted otherwise. 

No full contact until week 2. 

We will be placing name stickers and Wolves stickers on helmets during practice. We will provide mouth-guards. If you want to purchase your own mouth-guard, it MUST be able to be tethered to the helmet.

Football camp is Monday, July 29th-Wednesday, July 31st from 5:30 p.m.-7:00 p.m.

The cost of camp is $15. If youth are registered for the 2019 Youth Football season, camp is FREE. 

Campers should wear comfortable athletic clothes, athletic shoes or cleats (no metal cleats) and bring a water bottle. 

The deadline to sign up for the 2019 Youth Football season is Thursday, August 1st.

Equipment hand out & weigh in is Thursday, 8/1/2019 from 5:30-7:00 p.m. at the football concession stand.

Coaches meeting, first aid & concussion training is Monday, July 22nd, 2019 from 6:00-7:30 p.m. in Coach Armbrust's room (S213) at the high school.
